Review: WWE Monday Night Raw In Columbia, SC

The last time WWE Monday Night Raw came to Columbia, SC was on November 28, 2011. The highlights of that evening included John Cena appearing on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s talk show called Piper’s Pitt. And for the main event of that night, it was CM Punk defending his WWE Championship against Alberto Del Rio. Yeah…it’s been a while since Monday Night Raw has been to Columbia.

There was a lot of excitement for tonight’s Raw because the WWE held the Elimination Chamber premium live event two days earlier (Saturday afternoon). Brock Lesnar went on to win the Elimination Chamber and become the new WWE Champion.

The Wrestlemania sign hung from the rafters as the show kicked off hot with Brock Lesnar making his way to the ring. The thunderous pyro was met with a thunderous ovation for Lesnar. Lesnar thanked the crowd before being interrupted by Paul Heyman. It was then revealed that Lesnar would be defending his WWE Championship against a yet-to-be-named opponent at an up coming Madison Square Garden house show. After the MSG event, then we are on the road to Wrestlemania as Lesnar faces Roman Reigns in a title unification match.

The WWE universe was out in full force for the rest of the show. Hopefully it won’t be another 10 years before the top sports entertainment company comes back for a TV taping at the Colonial Life Arena.

-Finn Balor and Tommaso Ciampa defeated The Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Zigger and Robert Roode)

-The Miz reveals Logan Paul as his tag team partner against the Rey and Dominik Mysterio for their match at Wrestlemania. Miz and Paul then beat down the Mysterios

-Rhea Ripley defeats Nikki A.S.H.

-WWE United States Champion Damian Priest defeats Shelton Benjamin. Finn Balor then came back out to announce he will challenge for the US Title next week on Raw

-Dana Brooke pins Reggie to become new 24/7 Champion

-Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch promo

-Bianca Belair defeated Doudrop while Lynch is on commentary

-Edge promo looking for someone to step up to be his Wrestlemania opponent

-Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens defeated RK-Bro
