Artist: Heart
Album: LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL WITH THE ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
Label: Eagle Vision
Genre: Classic Rock

This DVD features Heart, anchored by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, live at the Royal Albert Hall in London. They are also joined by The Royal Philharmonic – the first time Heart has been joined by a full orchestra.

The concert starts out with “Magic Man,” “Dreamboat Annie” and “What About Love.” There was a transitional period where songs from their newest album, “Beautiful Broken,” were prominently featured. These songs were on the softer side of Heart. This is when the orchestra comes into play – with the ballads.

Nearing the end of the main set, they played “Silver Wheels” – the extended acoustic intro by Ann Wilson and the rocking “Crazy On You.”

Of course they had to pay homage to Led Zeppelin, since Heart started out as a Zeppelin cover band, by playing “No Quarter.”

They closed out the encore with “Barracuda” and “Kick It Out.”

There were two major omissions: “Even It Up” and “Straight On.” If those two could have been added to the setlist, then that would have made this DVD even better. Overall, it was nice to see that Heart still has it. Yes, there were a few too many new songs in a row and that slowed down the mojo of the show, but it picked back up at the very end.
