The legendary Marshall Tucker Band returned home to Spartanburg, SC to be inducted into the South Carolina Music Hall of Fame. It was recorded on September 19, 1995 at The Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg, SC.

This new live album is a release of never-before-heard material. They were the 22nd members to go in the SC Music Hall of Fame.

Original members present included Doug Gray (vocals), George McCorkle (guitar), Paul Riddle (drums) and Jerry Eubanks (reed/keyboards).

Special guests included Charlie Daniels, Jamioe and Butch Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band, The Outlaws, Firefall and Wet Willie.

They came out and started “Heard It In A Love Song.” Gray would constantly get the crowd to sing along with him during the chorus of the song. Gray later gave a shout out to the bassist, Franklin Wilkie, for his commendable work.

Later on, Daniels was introduced on the fiddle for “Long Hard Ride.” Daniels had a masterful performance with his blazing fiddle. The MTB then slowed it down with “Desert Skies.”

Gray then dedicated “Searchin’ For A Rainbow” to Toy and Tommy Caldwell, because they are the only original members that were not present. Tommy (bass) died in 1980 and Toy (guitar) died in 1993.

They continued on with Tucker classics like “Fire On The Mountain,” “24 Hours At A Time” and “Ramblin.’”

They closed out the show with “Can’t You See.” Gray took over on lead vocals since it was originally sung by Toy Caldwell. Everyone onstage joined in singing to close out the night.

It was a very good live album. The replacements for the original members filled in admirably. The special guest musicians also helped magnify the Marshall Tucker Band’s signature sound. This is another fine example of recent Marshall Tucker Band live releases by the Shout! Factory. If you are a southern rock fan, then this is a must have.
