It’s Easy…. The Newberry Opera House!

This season the Newberry Opera House will host well over 100 performances, of some of the greatest artists performing today.

The season opens with Elvis, 40 or so of him, when the weeklong Ultimate Elvis Festival roll (and rocks) into town. About the time Elvis leaves the Building – Art Garfunkel arrives.

Garfunkel, half of the mega duo Simon and Garfunkel, will present an intimate evening of his favorite songs, and his reminiscences of an incredible career, which keeps on going.

Then on to the “Chapel of Love” with the Dixie Cups, the terrific rhythm and blues group from New Orleans who had a string of hits in the 60’s and 70s.

“It’s Alright” the Impressions will take care of you on Sunday the 28th. They will be “Talking’ About My Baby” and Gypsy Women.

And this is just the beginning! Celebrate Oktoberfest in downtown Newberry on the first Saturday of October.

Direct from the Gaither Band, The Hoppers will perform. John Oates does an acoustic evening: The “Secret Agent of Rock” Johnny Rivers, will sing “The Poor Side of Town” and so many more of his great hits, The legendary Don Williams, Marching Band, Afro Cuban sound, the Four Freshmen, a Broadway play based on a day in the Life of Ann Landers, a Tribute of Creedence Clearwater Revival and the uber-romanitc Peabo Bryson, and we’re just getting started!

Gene Watson, the red hot bluegrass group The SteelDrivers, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Edwin McCain, the Swingin’ Medallions and the original band Survivor – singing “Eye of the Tiger” all are coming to Newberry this season in the early fall.

Ricky Skaggs and the Broadway production of Jekyll and Hyde round out the first half of November.

Christmas starts early in Newberry with the Glenn Miller Orchestra on Nov. 23rd. Then get in the Holiday spirit with: Clint Black, Christmas with the King, The Sigmund Romberg Orchestra and a Viennese Christmas, the Nutcracker Ballet, BJ Thomas, Crystal Gayle, Handel’s Messiah and Wynonna are just a few of the ways to celebrate the holidays in Newberry.

It’s a Roaring twenties Soirée on New Years Eve. Followed in January with Dailey and Vincent, Travis Tritt, the original Bill Haley’s Comets.

The Broadway production on the life of Rock and Roll Legend Buddy Holly will have you dancing in the aisles. The, oh, so smooth Stylistics, the “original” Irish Tenor- Ronan Tynan, singing love songs on Valentines Day, The Atlanta Pops, Vince Gill with the Time Jumpers, The Bellamy Brothers, the Gibson Brothers, The Oak Ridge Boys, the Lennon Sisters, Lorrie Morgan, Singer/Songwriters including such amazing talents as Kim Carnes, John Ford Coley, Carla Bonoff and Jimmy Webb.

International piano superstar Abbey Simon, jazz with the Hot Sardines, Doo-Op with Tommy Mara and the Crests, the Hit Men, (original member’s of Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons, and Tommy James and the Shondells) along with Chinese Acrobats, Irish Dancers and a Russian Ballet Festival. Eclectic star power at the Opera House! Travel the world with out having to stamp your passport, all in the comfort of our intimate hall -The stars really do come out in Newberry!
